Our Mission
Creation: After over a decade gruelling burnout from hustle culture - Claire Hacker founded Okay to Rest in December of 2020. A love letter to softness, in a world that heavily prioritizes and rewards "grit". A reminder that our worth is not calculated by our productivity output.
What good is our mission statement if our garment practices don't mirror our values?
Textile Sustainability: All Okay to Rest garments are 100% cotton milled, designed and sewn here in Canada. 80% of textiles are made within a 100 mile radius of our factory in Toronto.
OEKO Tex Certification - Our cotton is tested safe from over 1,000 harmful substances like pesticides, formaldehyde and surfactants.
Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS) Certification: Guarantees that our textiles are made from at least 70% organic fibres. Ensuring strict environmental and social criteria across the entire supply chain.
Our People: Both our company and our production facility are women owned, and 80% operated. Our production facility is located in Toronto, Ontario. They are an exemplar toward the Occupational Health and Safety Act of Canada - Which ensures garment workers are safe, comfortable and earning living wages. Our factory holds certification from the Canadian Aboriginal Minority Supplier Council (CAMSC), Accenture's Diverse Supplier Development Program (DSDP), and are a National Member of Canada's LGBTQ+ and Chamber of Commerce (CGLCC).
